Orinus Partners’ Social entrepreneurship platform LINK held final presentation event, and selected Gobd as a winner
On January 23, the final presentation event for LINK was held at the Radius Centre in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and selected Gobd as a winner.
LINK is Orinus Parners’ premier business collaboration platform, dedicated to creating thriving entrepreneur hub between Bangladesh and Japan. LINK is open for social entrepreneurs in Bangladesh, and is committed to support their accelerated growth. LINK opens an avenue to be recognized by and gain support from external experts, business partners, and investors.
For this LINK’s first business competition, 34 entrepreneurs applied under five different sectors; agriculture, energy, healthcare, education, and ICT. First and second evaluations were conducted by application documents and interviews. At the final presentation event, 5 selected entrepreneurs presented their businesses to panel of judges comprised of business leaders from Bangladesh and Japan, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and a representative director of Orinus Parnters. Head of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Bangladesh office also attended to give comments on the presentations. The event went real success with attendance of 80 people from enterprises, international cooperation agencies, media, and individuals.
Mr. Farhan Rahman, COO and Co-Founder of GObd, was selected as a winner. He was selected by its impact to social issues (urban traffic and logistics loss), business scalability, and collaboration potential with international partners. GObd is Bangladesh’s first “smart” transportation platform, providing users with real-time traffic data, public transportation information & on-demand transportation resources.
Orinus Partners invited Mr. Farhan to Tokyo, Japan between 26th -29th February to coordinate meeting opportunities with Japanese companies to discuss potential business collaboration. Orinus Partners continues to be committed to create collaborations between Japanese business leaders and social entrepreneurs in Bangladesh, utilizing this LINK platform.
